Beginning with December 10, the Christmas Caravan will daily leave from the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau to the country’s villages and towns. Those who want to offer presents to children can come to the Square starting at 9am, between December 10 and 19, except for Sundays, IPN reports.

This year the Caravan will visit over 3,000 children at 21 destination points, namely eight boarding schools, a vocational school, a penitentiary and 11 rural schools. Performances and other recreational activities will be staged for children within this charity campaign. Anyone can join the Christmas Caravan, including enterprises and organizations.

The traditional charity event is aimed at sensitizing society to the problems faced by deprived children and at helping children from socially disadvantaged families and boarding schools.

The Christmas Caravan, which is the 19th this year, is staged by the Children’s Foundation “Clipa Siderala” in partnership with the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Spot and the National Patrolling Inspectorate.
