Christmas Caravan starts on December 14

The Christmas Caravan – a traditional action of the Children’s Fund “Clipa Siderala” – starts on December 14. Daily, till December 22, a bus, loaded with gifts, will start at 9.00, from Chisinau's Great National Assembly Square towards a boarding school, a social center or school from Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The caravan will bring children warmth in their hearts, mirth and a beautiful Christmas fairy-tale, with gifts and contests,” Rada Bondarciuc, the fund’s executive director stated on Tuesday, December 9, at a news conference. The action is supported by companies, traffic police officers, who offer help, in case of unfavorable weather conditions, pupils and teachers. Pupils from Chisinau will perform a show. If they can afford, they will donate toys and sweets, said Svetlana Nazaria, the main specialist within the Chisinau General Direction of Education, Youth and Sport. The caravan will get to the children educated in 22 residential institutions, as to the children from social-vulnerable families of 18 localities. The project “Santa Clause’s Academy,” administered by “Clipa Siderala,” announces a contest for the most beautiful song, picture, poem or fairy-tale about Santa Clause. The winner will receive a tv set. Last year, children were invited to make New Year’s toys. All the letters, sent to Santa Claus, without a stamp and with the address on the envelope, conform to an agreement with Posta Moldovei, will get to Santa Clause’s Academy. All children will get answers. The Christmas Caravan is the 11th edition. Up to now, the bus with gifts has arrived at over 5 thousand children.
