The Christmas Caravan staged by the charitable organization “Clipa Siderala” began the journey on Saturday, December 12. The thirteenth consecutive year, students of Chisinau high schools and volunteers of “Clipa Siderala” set off from the Great National Assembly Square in a bus at 09.00 and travel to orphanages during ten days, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The Caravan brings joy and presents to the children, like in Christmas fairy tales. Besides orphanages, this year we will also travel to villages, where many families live in appalling conditions. The children in orphanages always have a bed where to sleep and clothes, but in poor families they often do not have even the basic necessities,” the organizer of the event Ana-Maria Bondarciuc has told Info-Prim Neo.
According to her, the presents have been made by high schools students and by “Clipa Siderala”. By two Chisinau high schools will fill the bus with gifts every day. The generous people can also make donations. The students will sing and dance for the children. The presents include sweets, juices, fruit, toys, clothes, school supplies, books.
Santa Claus's assistant, Craciunita, said the charity event was organized by kindhearted people who aim to make the children in orphanages and in poor families happy by giving them gifts and creating a holiday atmosphere.
“The number of surprises prepared for these children grows every year. We hold concerts and bring joy. The chidlren's delight is sheer and sincere,” said Craciunita.
