Chisinau’s enlargement is postponed

The Chisinau Municipal Council postponed the decision on transferring Maximovca village, Anenii Noi raion, in the composition of the municipality of Chisinau, at the request of the leader of PCRM faction, Svetlana Popa. According to the leader of communist councilors, similar requests came from the localities adjacent to the municipality and they must be studied closer. Passing Maximovca under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Chisinau was solicited by the Mayoralty of this locality and by the raion council of Anenii Noi. According to the submitted solicitation the locality has communication ways to Chisinau and does not have direct roadways to the raion center and in order to go to Anenii Noi the inhabitants of Maximovca are forced to come to the Bus Station from Chisinau. Maximovca village is situated at a distance of 36 km from the raion center and 12 km from Chisinau’s Ciocana district. On January 1, 2006, Maximovca had a population of 1750 inhabitants. 65% of the inhabitants are Ukrainians and the rest – Moldovans. At present, 35 suburban localities with 18 mayoralties are included in the composition of the municipality of Chisinau.
