Almost 100 young people from the municipality of Chisinau are taking part in a summer school held in Vadul lui Vodă. These will discuss the strategy for developing and innovating the youth sector of the municipality of Chisinau for 2023 – 2028, which was drafted by the Chisinau City Hall with the assistance of UNICEF Moldova, IPN reports.
Mayor general Ion Ceban said that in Chisinau, the budget for the youth sector gas grown 30 times over the past four years – from 2 million lei to 60 million lei. “We allocate funds for opening youth centers, youth councilors, different services, including media and leisure time services. Next week, there will be launched the economic program for young people and migrants, for entrepreneurial education and for those who want to start a business,” stated the mayor.
Deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Andrei Pavaloi said that this year’s edition of the summer school involves more participants than the previous editions and this means the number of young people who want to become involved has grown. “The development of youth policies and programs in the municipality of Chisinau is due to the involvement and insistence of the young people, while the action plan for implementing the youth stagey should be designed with the assistance of young people so as to obtain results for young people,” noted Andrei Pavaloi.
During July 20 – 23, the young people will take part in workshops where they will discuss the seven priorities of the youth stagey, will become involved in team building activities, exchanges of goods practices between organizations and establishment of partnerships.
Also, as from July 1, a survey of the needs of the young people from the capital city has been conducted in the municipality of Chisinau. This covers a sample of 1,800 persons aged between 14 and 35 and the final results will be presented at the municipal youth forum in August. The proposals formulated by young people will serve as the basis for working out the action plan for implementing the youth strategy.
The Chisinau City Hall drafted the first strategy for developing and innovating the youth sector of the municipality of Chisinau for 2023 – 2028 with the support of UNICEF Moldova. The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport is to design the action plan until this yearend. The summer school is staged with aim of consulting the young people and of collecting proposals from youth organizations, student associations, youth and student councils that delegated persons to take part in the event.
