The Chisinau water utility began the works to prepare the water supply and sewerage system for the cold season. As usual, SA Apa-Canal Chisinau launched cleaning and repair works on the piping system at the start of summer, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the company, extensive repair works will be performed between May 29 and October 30 to lay new water pipes, wash the networks and reservoirs, and prepare the technical equipment for the cold season. The works are aimed at ensuring the stable functioning of the water supply and sewerage system in winter.
The water pipes that are in a bad state will be the first to be repaired. The first planned works will start in Buiucani and Botanica districts on May 29 and 30.
The water supplier said the projected works will help to maximally reduce the water leakages and will increase the quality of the provided services for a long period of time. During the period of the works, SA Apa-Canal Chisinau will provide the consumers with drinking water by tanks. The works will not significantly disrupt traffic on the affected streets.
