In connection with the forecast ground frosts, the Chisinau water supplier warns that measures should be taken to ensure the protection and integrity of water pipes and meters inside buildings. The building managers are asked to thermally insulate the internal piping system and water mains, IPN reports, quoting a press release of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”.
The company’s specialists recommend the end-users to respect the norms concerning the laying and exploitation of pipes and to correctly insulate the cold water meters. In order to avoid accidents and useless costs, the water mains and meters must be insulated with special materials, with only the digits showing water consumption being left open for being read.
Under the Law on the Public Water Supply and Sewerage Service, the consumers are obliged to thermally insulate water meters to prevent their deterioration by frost.
