Famous personalities from the field of architecture and leaders of the profession will come together in Chisinau on February 28 at an international forum staged by SHARE Architects of Romania in partnership with the Union of Architects of the Republic of Moldova. The organizers promise professional networking of the highest level.
The event will involve specialists from the Republic of Moldova, Romania, the UK, Switzerland, France, and Turkey. In a news conference hosted by IPN, the president of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Moldova Iurie Povar said the event is staged in partnership with the company SHARE Architects of Romania, which has a rich experience in the field. “About 15 countries are involved in the process of ensuring professional contacts. We hope that this event that is held in Chisinau for the first time will be successful. We have prepared long and the Ministry of Culture has been considerably involved in this process. The list of partners includes the Municipal Division of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations,” stated Iurie Povar.
The forum will center on pressing problems faced in the field, including the international experience in protecting historic zones in Europe and the practice of holding architecture and urban design competitions in European states. There will be presented the ongoing Zonal Urban Development Plan of the historic nucleus of Chisinau. “What is built in Chisinau and in other cities of the country is probably not fully accepted by the specialty public. This is due to the fact that practically all the investors or beneficiaries in Moldova fail to stage architecture and urban design competitions in accordance with the procedures,” said Iurie Povar.
Aurelia Carpov, a member of the Union’s Administration Board, transmitted the message of the founder of SHARE Architects Florin Mindirigiu in which this says that he is delighted at the fact that Chisinau is added to the map of their wide platform, alongside such European capitals as Bucharest, Athens, Belgrade, Bratislava, Budapest, Cracow, Ljubljana, Nicosia, Prague, Sarajevo, Pristina, Tirana, Sofia, and Skopje. “This first edition enables us to fulfill the assumed mission – to create a powerful intercultural character, a meeting and debate point for professionals from the field of architecture and players from related areas, to promote architects from the Republic of Moldova in Europe and to offer updated information and inspiration through the presentations of our prestigious invitees,” said Aurelia Carpov, reading Florin Mindirigiu’s message.
The forum of February 28 will involve renowned personalities from the field of architecture and leaders of the profession. Among them is Maurizio Meossi, Associate Director, Zaha Hadid Architects of the UK; Anouk Legendre, Partener XTU of France; Kerem Yazgan, co-founder of Yazgan Design Architecture of Turkey; Davide Macullo, founder of Davide Macullo Architects of Switzerland; Raluca Șoaită, founder of Tesseract Architecture of Romania etc.
Vice president of the Union of Architects Sergiu Tronciu, dean of the Design Faculty of the Moldova Technical University, said the event will also involve representatives of the national architecture sector, namely Maxim Calujac, founder of Calujac Studio; Alexandrin Buraga, founder of AB + Partners, and other architects who will come with interesting messages referring to topical architecture problems faced not only in the Republic of Moldova. A special award - SHARE OPERA OMNIA AWARD - will be handed over at the forum to a Moldovan architect known for a number of key facilities erected in Chisinau.
The International Architecture and Technology Innovation Forum – SHARE Chisinau 2023 entitled “Living and Working Architecture” will take place on February 28, stating at 10am, at the Madison Park Chisinau.
