Chisinau to host Ax-Art-2006 Exhibition

From June 12 to June 14, the 9th edition of the national Exhibition of fine arts, photography and folk craftsmanship will take place at the “Moldexpo” Exhibition Centre in Chisinau. The event’s amplitude and themes represent a real holiday for the modern art through its multitude of displays: painting, graphic arts, sculpture, and art. Last year, the event was attended by 134 artists, including 89 painters, 4 sculptors, 4 photographers, 37 craftsmen from Chisinau, Edinet, Falesti, Dubasari and other localities from Moldova, Romania, Latvia, Georgia, Ukraine, Poland. These ones have exhibited their works as freelance artists or united in institutions like the Union of Folk Craftsmen, the Association “Polish Spring”, the International Project “Eurointegration through art”. The traditional contest “Beauty as seen by amateurs” is organised is the framework of the exhibition. Workshops for making wattles, artistic embroidery, crocheting, where every amateur will be able to learn from proffesional craftsmen, will be held daily. The exhibition is organized by the “Moldexpo” CIE, the Ministry of Culture and by the Craftsmen Union of Moldova.
