Chisinau to host 42nd meeting of CIS Economic Council

The 42nd summit of the CIS Economic Council will be held for the first time in Chisinau on June 19, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Ministry of Economy and Trade said nine delegations are expected to attend: from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirghistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine. Attending the summit will be Russia's Senior Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Azerbaijani Senior Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyubov, Armenian Senior Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorkian, Belorussian Deputy Prime Minister Vasili Sokovich, Ukraine's Economy Minister Bogdan Danilishin and others. The meeting agenda includes 14 subjects among which the most important concern cooperation between the CIS countries in developing international transport corridors, rules on the origin of goods within the CIS countries, and interconnection of the CIS countries' energy and electricity systems. The meeting well be chaired by Moldovan Senior Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon. This is for the first time that a meeting of the CIS Economic Council takes place elsewhere than in Moscow.
