Chisinau-Tiraspol working groups to meet in Germany

The leaders and experts of the Chisinau-Tiraspol working groups will meet at the OSCE Conference “Promotion of Confidence-Building Measures between the Two Banks of the Nistru” in Germany on June 20-23, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov has told Info-Prim Neo. Such a conference will take place for the second time. The first was held last year. “This conference is organized especially for the sector groups that work in Chisinau and Tiraspol in all the areas. The working groups will hold discussions centering on every sector. There will be formulated conclusions and recommendations,” said Eugen Carpov. The conference will be also attended by political representatives of the 5+2 format. There may also take place a meeting of Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk, but this is not yet definite. Within the first conference of the kind held last September, Vlad Filat had a meeting with the former Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov. Then, the officials discussed the prospects of resuming the official Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format and signed the common regulations of the groups of experts for strengthening the confidence-building measures and developing bilateral interaction.
