The Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Ambassador Wolf Dietrich Heim, said the sector working groups between Chisinau and Tiraspol on eight problematic areas resume work. The meeting of the working group on telecommunications was set for May 26, while the group on education meets at the beginning of next week, IPN reports.
In a news conference in Chisinau on May 25, Wolf Dietrich Heim said that he visited Tiraspol in the first half of the day after he had discussions with representatives of Chisinau on May 24.
The Ambassador said both of the sides should show political will to be able to make progress. “We have positive dynamics in meetings and want this to be aimed at results so that we advance and come closer to the materialization of actions,” stated Wolf Dietrich Heim.
Ambassador Wolf Dietrich Heim had been in Moldova on a visit on May 24 and 25. On May 24, he had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan, while on May 25 he met with the Key Negotiator of Tiraspol Vitaly Ignatyev. He also met with the ambassadors of Russia, Ukraine, the EU and the U.S. in Chisinau.
