Chisinau and Tiraspol started to prepare the agenda for the next round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format. The sides’ political representatives to the talks Eugen Carpov and Nina Stanski had a meeting in Tiraspol on September 12. It involved foreign partners taking part in the 5+2 format, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Reintegration Office, the meeting was held in the context of the organization of the meeting of Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk. The Moldovan side underlined the necessity and importance of staging such a meeting.

Eugen Carpov stressed the importance of stepping up the activities with a view to identifying solutions to the problems existing within the agreed platforms, by observing the principles and international commitments.

“We are ready to discuss any problem that appeared in the interaction between Chisinau and Tiraspol and together to find appropriate solutions in the people’s interests,” said Eugen Carpov.

The next round of the talks in the 5+2 format will take place in Brussels on October 3.
