Chisinau taxi drivers to pay smaller taxes into local budget

The companies that provide taxi services in Chisinau will pay by 300 lei a month into the local budget. The taxi drivers appealed the Chisinau Council’s decision of April 2010 to court and obtained its annulment. Under the decision, the taxi companies were to pay a tax of 500 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy mayor Mihai Furtuna said that since the decision was approved until present the taxi companies have transferred no money to the budget. Until four years ago, the taxi drivers worked under patent and paid 250 lei a month. After the Government removed the patent, the monthly municipal tax on taxi services was set only in 2010.
