A woman aged 38 from Chisinau was arrested on suspicion that she illegally got over 5 million lei from ten persons and then disappeared, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The woman employed several swindling schemes. In 2007 – 2010, working as the executive director of a real estate company, she sold several plots used as farmland for constructing buildings on. In the same period, she sold several apartments that didn’t belong to her. The victims gave her the money in order to invest it in realty businesses, but the swindler spent the money as she wanted.
The woman got 14 years in jail and was banned from holding administrative posts for a period of five years. She was also obliged to pay back the money to the victims.
