A number of streets in Chisinau had been partly flooded following yesterday's rain. The personnel of the National Swift Response Center took ten units of transport out of the water and helped seven persons caught by the rain, Emergencies Service spokeswoman Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo. Te ffirefighters pumped the water out of the underground passage situated at the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Blvd. and Ismail St, while the specialized firefighting unit of Moldova's Railways pumped the water from around the Railway Terminal. There were flooded sections of the streets Albioara, Ismail, Vasile Badiu, Grigore Ureche, Tabacaria Veche, and Calea Orheiului. Two days ago, a heavy storm caused damage in Leova town. The strong winds downed 16 trees and six utility poles, leaving the town in the darkness. There were damaged the cables of a telephone station. The telephone connection and power supply were restored the next day. According to the Hydrometeorology Service, no dangerous weather phenomena are expected in Moldova today, September 1. The country's territory is under green code.
