Chisinau services engaged in rainstorm aftermath efforts

The municipal services in Chisinau are continuing the efforts started last night to deal with the effects of the heavy rainstorm that battered the capital city on Thursday evening. The municipality's intervention includes efforts to deobstruct public roads, unclog storm drains, remove waste and mud brought by rainwater, and drain flooded households. Another major problem reported by the municipal services were multiple trees and tree branches taken down by the rainstorm. At least 140 trees collapsed on Chisinau's streets, damaging power lines and a number of cars. Ruptures of water and gas pipes were also reported. Works are due to be completed by the end of the day, the City Hall said.
