Chisinau route transporters likely to pay more

The companies providing taxi and minibus transportation services will pay more into Chisinau’s budget, as the Municipal Council (CMC) plans to raise the monthly taxes, Info-Prim Neo reports. The topic was discussed at the CMC’s sitting of March 25. After the debates, the new regulation proposed by the transport direction head, Veaceslav Tarna, did not get the necessary number of votes and was returned for revision. Veaceslav Tarna said the taxi-drivers worked on patent basis till not long ago, paying 250 lei. Now, when they are to pay a municipal tax, it should be raised to 500 lei. The local taxes for minibus carriers will also rise, depending on their turnover and areas they cover.
