The restaurant where over 20 students from a Chisinau lyceum poisoned themselves was closed on a temporary basis. A decision to this effect was taken by the chief sanitary doctor of Chisinau municipality Luminita Suveica, IPN reports.

In a communique, the Chisinau Public Health Center says the epidemiological examination showed 22 students and a teacher of the lyceum “Dante Alighere” suffered food poisoning. The Christmas party given at the restaurant on December 24 involved 46 students and a teacher. After eating there, half of those attending felt sick and were hospitalized the next day.

All the patients have symptoms typical of food poisoning such as fever of 38.8-40.0 degrees Celsius, general weakness, stomachache, headache, muscle pain, diarrhea and nausea.

Specialists of the Chisinau Public Health took samples of food products and drinking water for microbiological analysis. All the employees working at the restaurant were subject to medical examinations.

The law enforcement bodies were informed about this case.
