A man aged 28 from Chisinau attempted to bribe a police officer of the Rascani Police Inspectorate. The policeman refused to take the 8,000 lei bribe, IPN reports, quoting the Chisinau Police Division.
The young man gave bribe in order to influence the investigation into his complicity in drug keeping and taking. He was caught in the act and was put under arrest for 72 hours. He faces up to six years in jail for active corruption.
The man is also investigated for keeping and taking drugs.
