Chisinau called on the OSCE Chairman-in-Office and the other partners of the Transnistrian settlement process to become involved in remedying the situation in the Security Zone, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Reintegration Office, in a meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process Radojko Bogojević, Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov said the situation in the Security Zone is worrisome. He referred to the ditches dug near the villages Dorotskaya and Pohrebea of Dubasari district. He said that these actions of Tiraspol are unilateral and uncoordinated.
Eugen Carpov expressed his regret at the decision of Tiraspol and Moscow to postpone the next round of the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the 5+2 format, set for the middle of July, until September. He underlined that Chisinau is now interested in solving the problems faced by the Moldovan-administered Latin-script schools in Transnistria as swiftly as possible and in ensuring framers’ access to their farmland located beyond the Tiraspol-Camenca road.
On July 1, a delegation of the OSCE will pay a visit to Tiraspol to meet with the chief negotiator of Transnistria Nina Shtanski and the co-chairmen of the working groups on the confidence building measures. On July 1, Radojko Bogojević will give a press briefing in Tiraspol, while on July 2 – in Chisinau, together with Eugen Carpov.
