Chisinau Public Transport Division head to be discharged

Veaceslav Tarna, head of the Public Transport and Communications Division, will be dismissed when he returns from sick leave, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca announced on April 18. He said the dismissal order was made because the Chisinau street Alba Iulia was repaired non-qualitatively, Info-Prim Neo reports. Veaceslav Tarna cannot be fired until he is on sick leave. Dorin Chirtoaca said he will not change his mind and Tarna will be discharged immediately after he returns. The sick leave cannot last for more than four months, said the mayor. In another development, Dorin Chirtoaca said the trial involving the head of the Social Assistance Division Eugenia Ceban goes on. “The hearings continue. It is hard to validate the retirement documents, but we will not give up,” he stated. Eugenia Ceban was dismissed by the mayor for several times, but she was reinstated in her post by court decisions. When she tried to leave the ordinary meeting of City Hall officials on April 18, the mayor stopped her, saying: “Missis Ceban, where are you going? In retirement? Please sit down.” The first time, Eugenia Ceban was fired in 2007 for the reason that she discriminated against some of the Social Assistance Division’s employees. Afterward, she was accused of financial violations. She was reinstated in both of the cases. The last dismissal order was made when she reached retirement age.
