Chisinau provided 60% of Moldovan services in the first semester of 2006

57.3 % of the services provided to the population in the first 6 months of 2006, by legally registered units, account for Chisinau municipality and constitutes MDL 2, 161 bln. These data were presented on Monday, July 17, by the head of the General Economy, Reforms and Patrimony Relations Department (DGERRP), Valentina Merla, at a working meeting of the capital mayoralty. According to her, goods amounting to MDL 5.77 bln were sold in Chisinau, figure increasing by 23 % compared with the same period of 2005, or 63.2 % of the total volume at national level. The volume of transported goods was in the first semester of 711,000 tones, the contribution of the municipality being of 70.2 % from the total volume. According to Merla, the businessmen participated actively, in the first six months of 2006, in developing the infrastructure, building with their own means and opening stores with a total surface of 2306 square meters, gas pipelines with a length of 27 km, aqueducts – 12.6 km, sewerage pipes – 4.9 km. There were sold as well, in the first six months of 2006, 568 apartments and houses with a total surface of 148,400 square meters, representing 118 % compared with 2005, as well as over 60 % of the total volume registered at national level.
