Chisinau prepares for 12th session of Moldova-Russia Economic Cooperation Commission

The Moldovan component of the Moldova-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation will assemble for a meeting on Thursday, March 3, to discuss the agenda of the 12th session of the Commission, which is due to take place in Moscow during March 16-17, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communique from the the Ministry of Economy, the participants will discuss issues related to the most important aspects of the commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries, including cooperation in the sectors of agriculture and food industry, energy, industry and transportation, and also cooperation on international development, labor migration and humanitarian issues. Russia is Moldova's main trade partner both in terms of exports and imports. In 2010 exports to Russia stood at $404.2 million, or 25.6% of Moldova's total exports; imports from Russia totaled $586.5 million, accounting for 15.2% of the total.
