Chisinau policemen abducted, beaten and robbed

A policeman was abducted, robbed, severely beaten and then left in critical condition in a field at Chisinau’s outskirts. Anatol Proca, doctor coordinator at the Emergency Service, told Info-Prim Neo that the 25-year-old policeman, officer of the Patrol Regiment SCUT, fell victim to unknown assailants on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. While sitting in a taxi at a filling station, the policeman was forced out of the cab by unidentified attackers and then stuck into their car. Outside the city, the policeman was aggressed, robbed and then abandoned. The case is now under investigation. An 18-year-old student was beaten by his roommates in a dormitory located on 3/2 Cuza Voda Blvd, being admitted to the Emergency Hospital with brain concussion and multiple bruises. An unidentified man in his 40s was found in alcoholic coma on Kogalniceanu Street. Another man, also unidentified, thought to be about 65 years old, was found on Dacia Bldv drunk and bearing a wound on his forehead. On Wednesday and Thursday morning, the Emergency Service responded to 831 calls, including 47 cases of mumps.
