The Official Gazette of the municipality of Chisinau will appear soon in the Russian language too. The publishers will shortly work out a draft decision to constitute a team of authorized translators, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A number of municipal councilors said that the Russian-language speakers should have the possibility of reading the gazette in their mother tongue. The transparency and access to public information must be ensured and adequately addressed so that all the Chisinau residents are informed about the activity and decisions of the City Council.
Currently, the Official Gazette of Chisinau municipality comes out in Romanian only. At the City Council’s meeting of March 28, the editor of the gazette Victor Dumbraveanu said that there are yet no possibilities of printing the document in the Russian language owing to the working regime of the team of editors and publishers.
Last year, the Official Gazette was printed in Russian too. As the editor’s office does not have authorized translators, it cannot publish the document in Russian. According to Dumbraveanu, for the gazette to be printed in the two languages, the Chisinau City Hall should set up an editor’s office with more employees that will also include authorized translators of Russian.
The 32-page Official Gazette of Chisinau appears two times a month. Six numbers of the gazette have been issued this year.
