Chisinau Municipality to host its first tennis cup

The Chisinau Municipality will organize its first Open Tennis Cup during October 8-14, Info-Prim Neo reports. Head of the Mayor’s Cabinet Lilian Carp declared on Monday, October 8, at the City Hall operative meeting, that the sport event is part of the City Day program. The competition will gather over 100 sportsmen from all the age categories. The tennis matches will be played at “Terraten” Club. Lilian Carp also informed about the Chisinau City’s Handball Cup, which will take place on October 12. This year, teams from Cyprus and United Kingdom are expected to participate. Also on October 12, the municipal scholarships for special merits will be awarded. On October 14, the City Day, the festivities will begin with laying of flowers at the monument of Stephen the Great and the Holy, at 8 AM. Afterwards, a liturgy will be officiated at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity. The other events in the Great National Assembly Square will begin in the afternoon.
