The German company “Kaufland” donated an electric car to the Chisinau City Hall on September 23. This will be used by the City Hall’s employees, IPN reports, quoting the municipality.
Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said Chisinau municipality is the first public authority in Moldova that will possess an electric car. “It is a very important moment and a symbol of the future, given that we declared that we want to transform Chisinau into an ecological city,” he stated.
In another development, Dorin Chirtoaca said that by this donation, “Kaufland” showed once again its interest and care for Chisinau, managing to become a reliable partner of the local administration in a short period of time.
“Kaufland” also supports the Cleanup Day “Hai, Moldova!” that will be held in the municipality of Chisinau on September 24.
“Kaufland” is one of the largest retail companies in Europe. By 2020, the company plans to open six stores in Chisinau municipality at a cost of €60 million.
