The Chisinau City Hall, as the founder of the educational institutions of the municipality, allocated additional funds from the local budget for organizing groups with extended program for the 2022-2023 school year given that these groups are not among mandatory school services, IPN reports.
The municipality said the decision was taken at the request of school principals, taking into account the number of students and of requests made by parents, the available teaching staff and the necessary spaces.
Almost 41,000 primary school pupils study at educational institutions in the municipality in the 2022-2023 school year. At the beginning of the school year, by order of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, over 1,000 groups were constituted in 110 primary and secondary schools, with the staff being paid from budget funds.
The daily work program in classes or groups with extended program is tree or six astronomic hours long.
