The Chisinau City Hall invites the residents and guests of the capital city to Europe Day that this year will be marked in Chisinau on May 18. By tradition, the event is organized by the EU Delegation to Moldova in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the City Hall, the events will start at 2pm in the square of the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”, where the celebration will be officially inaugurated. The European Village set up by embassies of the EU member states to share the culture, traditions and cuisines of the countries they represent will open its doors to visitors.
Within the European Village, there will be held two public debates on the political and economic aspects of the cooperation between Moldova and the EU, involving EU ambassadors and Moldovan officials. Those who want will learn words or expressions in different languages of the EU at linguistic corners. The children will be able to draw different symbols of the EU on asphalt and on their bodies (body painting). The most active ones will receive presents from the EU Delegation to Moldova.
The activities will end with a concert in the Great National Assembly Square, starting at 7pm. It will be given by national and foreign singers and bands, including Antonia and “Deepcentral” from Romania, Catalin Josan and Alex Calancea band, Ionela Tarus and Mihai Ungureanu, Mircea Palamari, ensembles of the National Children’s and Youth Center “Artico”, ensemble “Fantezia”, Ion Paladi, Iurie Sadovnic, Anatol Dumitras, Lidia Botezatu, Radu Dolgan, Ana Barbu, Gheorghe Topa, Catharsis, Cristi Aldea-Teodorovici, and Tania Cerga.
