Chisinau Municipal Council postponed examination of the item on setting 10 places for meetings

The decision project was excluded of the agenda at the request of the Christian-Democratic counsellor Victor Grebenscicov who motivated that the document was not discussed within the permanent commission of municipal council. The exclusion was approved in unanimity by counsellor. The leader of the faction Alliance „Moldova Noastra”, Pavel Caba, said that the project has to be re-examined in order „not to create dissatisfactions within the society.” The decision draft stipulated 10 permanent places for organising meetings in the municipality Chisinau, including some parks. There were not included in the list Piaaa Marii Adunari Nationale, Gradina Publica „Stefan cel Mare si Sfant”, Square of the Cathedral and the Theatre of Opera and Ballet, being proposed only for organisation of festive and cultural events – festivals, performances, exhibitions etc. Those 10 places are the park Valea Morilor (Teatrul de Vara) on the street Alexei Mateevici, Park „Alunelul” on Calea Iesilor, park „Rascani” on the street Alecu Russo, the places in front of the Circus and the Trade Unions’ Palace, the square of the department store UNIC, the monument of Comsomolist heroes on the avenue Renasterii, land in front of the Republic Stadium and the park „Valea Morilor”, soseaua Hancesti (under the bridge). According to social-human and interethnic relations department of the mayoralty of the capital, while drafting the decision it was taken into consideration the place requested more often by the organisers of the events. It was taken into consideration as well the importance and the destination of Marii Adunari Nationale and rest places of the citizens. According to provisions of the art. 8 (5) of the Law on organising meetings, mentioned during the meeting, local public authorities have the right to set the places or buildings for their organisations.
