The Chisinau Municipal Council’s term that started in 2019 came to an end. Mayor-elect Ion Ceban thanked the local elected officials for the four-year period they devoted to the work for the benefit of the citizens of the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.
“There were different years, years with disputes, debates. What is important is that the inhabitants of the city see the changes we brought about together with the municipal councilors and these were many in number. Each of the CMC members contributed to these changes somehow. I wished them strong health and success in what they will do from now on,” noted Ion Ceban.
The mayor-elect said that in the CMC, he will be ready for dialogue with all the groups and councilors. “After the bureaucratic procedures for validating the elections are over, we will open discussions. I remind you that we issued invitations to the newly elected councilors, including those of the PAS and the PSRM, and are ready to implement together 60% of the programs of the two parties,” stated Ion Ceban.
The Chisinau Municipal Council consists of 51 councilors. In the November 5 elections, the National Alternative Movement and the Party of Acton and Solidarity gained by 20 seats of councilor. The Party of Socialists will have six seats of councilor on the CMC, the Party of Communists – two seats, while the Revival Party, the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and Our Party – by one seat each.
