Chisinau Mayor tries a new car

Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca is driving a new car. He says he borrowed it from Apa-Canal Chisinau to test it and maybe buy one for the Municipality. “I haven’t bought a new car, don’t worry. I just borrowed it for a couple of days to try this model and see if it’s worth purchasing such cars for the municipal services in the future”, the Mayor said at a press conference on Friday. Dorin Chirtoaca said that the car has reduced fuel consumption and it was good value for the money. He says that this model will be the Municipality’s choice if it will have the money to buy more cars. The borrowed car is a Dacia SUV. Until now, the Mayor used a BMW and a Toyota, both belonging to the City Hall. Chirtoaca gave up his personal car, an Opel, after it was involved in a road accident in which a person died. The car was driven by a City Hall employee.
