Chisinau Mayor distributes duties among City Hall officials

Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca on January 11 issued an ordinance to distribute duties for 2008 among the City Hall officials. Thus, the General Mayor, who leads the overall activity of the City Hall and of all its subdivisions, will be responsible for the development of the educational process, culture, protection of children’s rights and mass media issues. Deputy Mayor Mihai Furtuna was named in charge of the economic growth and financial development of Chisinau city, municipal property management, services performance, activity of all city markets and environmental issues. Deputy Mayor Vlad Cotet will ensure the good functioning of the heating, piping, electrical distribution and other technical systems of the municipality. He will also be responsible for the management of green spaces. Deputy Mayor Igor Lupulciuc will be in charge of housing issues, current and capital repair of the housing sector, clean-up and territory administration, social sector development, interethnic relations and social protection issues. Nistor Grozavu was appointed person in charge of the urban development of the city capital, the quality of urban constructions, public transport and communication ways issues. The secretary of the City Hall will manage secretary works and will be responsible for the legality of normative act drafts submitted to the Chisinau Municipal Council. The deputy mayors have also been given the right to issue ordinances and documents related to the domains in charge.
