Chisinau Mayor calls special City Council sitting

Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca requested City Council Secretary Valeriu Didencu to convene a special sitting on Tuesday, December 27, to examine an EBRD loan agreement for 22 million euros, Info-Prim Neo reports. At today's City Hall ordinary meeting, the Mayor recalled that the loan would enable the municipality to fully rehabilitate 6 streets in the city and that the agreement needed to be approved by the Council by the end of the year. If the Council fails to convene on Tuesday a new attempt will be made on Thursday. “Boycotting is not a good way to solve problems. They should take care not to face a boycott from the citizens one day”, said Chirtoaca, referring to the Communist councilors. The Communist faction was absent at the last Council's meeting on December 23.
