The municipal budget deficit can amount to 100 million lei towards the end of this year following the non-payment of the calculated volumes of local taxes and real estate taxes.
Finance Division head Veronica Herta Monday said that 87.5% of the projected budget revenues or 1.7 billion lei has been collected by September 12. “The most serious problems are faced with the collection of local taxes and real estate taxes. A sum of 60 million lei hasn’t been collected in this respect,” she stated.
The taxes for commercial units or from service provision, on advertisements and on incomes from entrepreneurial activities are also inappropriately collected.
Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked for a report on the spending so as to see who and what can give up so that the municipality does not enter 2014 with financial problems.
