Chisinau man badly beaten over cigarette light

A 31-year-old man was found this morning at a Chisinau building site after being badly beaten by unknown offenders yesterday in the evening.
Dr. Ludmila Untura of the Chisinau Emergency Service has told Info-Prim Neo that the man was found early morning today by the guard at the building site. The victim told doctors he was walking along Bucuresti Street when several men approached him and asked for a light, after which he was taken to the building site and beaten until he passed out.
The Emergency Hospital doctors diagnosed the victim with brain concussion, head injuries, and contusions of various internal organs.
The Emergency Hospital also accommodated a 16-year-old boy after he was struck on Hristo Botev Street by a Mitsubishi car. The boy suffered injuries of the left leg.
A drunken man fell down an unsecured manhole on Liviu Rebreanu Street and remained stuck there until rescuers helped him out.
Over the past day and night, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 719 calls, including 40 cases of acute viroses, 82 cases of trauma, 5 brain strokes, and one heart attack.
