Chisinau lawyer facing jail for bribery

The Anticorruption Center is suspecting a lawyer practicing in Chisinau of taking a bribe of 5,500 euros.
The counselor was arrested on September 28, after one of his clients complained that the lawyer had asked for the bribe to influence a favorable result in court.
If found guilty, the man will pay a fine of up to 30,000 lei (approximately 1,800 euros) or serve from 2 to 5 years in prison.
From the start of the year, the Anticorruption Center arrested 11 lawyers for similar practices.
