Currently, there is no strategic development plan for Chisinau city. The general plan worked out in 2007 only divides the spheres of influence, head of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council Ion Ceban said in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.
The politician said the general plan cannot be thought up for a period shorter than 20 years from technical viewpoint and from the viewpoint of territorial expansion of the city. “We work intensely on the issue and the task is to improve this development plan. We talked to our Belarusian, French partners and intend to attract the best experts in the field,” stated Ion Ceban.
Ex-mayor of Chisinau Serafim Urechean said there is a development plan that was designed in 1989 by specialists from Moscow, Kiev, Leningrad and Moldova. “Currently, there are no specialists who could work out another general development plan for the city,” he stated.
According to Serafim Urechean, during its 560 years of existence Chisinau city had three general development plans, one of which is that of 1989.
