The headmistress of early childhood education institution 53 from the capital’s Centru district has been fired. The decision was taken after a random inspection by officers from the General Directorate of Education, Youth, and Sports, IPN reports.

According to a press release from municipal authorities, the inspection was undertaken in response to complaints from several of the parents whose children are enrolled in that kindergarten. It was identified that meal planning within the institution did not follow the officially approved template menu. Furthermore, expired medications were found within the institution’s medical office.

It has also been found that in August 2017 the institution had collected money for waste evacuation, which had accumulated after renovations to the kindergarten roof, although said renovations had been undertaken by an economic agent that was obligated to include waste evacuation in the contract.
