The fifth edition of the Chisinau International Marathon takes place in the capital on Saturdays and Sundays, September 28 and 29. The competition includes both amateur runners and professional athletes from the country and abroad. Also, within the sport event framework "Kids Run Day by Naturalis" race and the competition for athletes in wheelchairs will be held - "Marathon for All", IPN reports.
According to organizers, participants will compete according to age and distance chosen: "Marathon" (42 km 195 m), "Semimaraton" (21 km 0975 m), "10 km" and "5 km". Also, the competition will include the traditional free race "Fun Fun" of 1.5 km, attended by thousands of people annually.
On Saturday, "KIDS RUN DAY by Naturalis" children's competition is organized, starting at 10.00, followed by the award ceremony at 12.00. The event will continue with competitions, trainings and master classes. In the evening, at 5 pm, for the participants in the “Chisinau Marathon”, a Pasta Party will be organized on the territory of the Food Court. Participants in the children's competition will be awarded medals.
On Sunday, starting 08.30, the fifth edition of the "Chisinau International Marathon" will take place. In "Marathon for All" distance the sportsmen in wheelchairs together with their assistants (volunteers) will participate. The "Fun Run" can be attended by any person, regardless of age and level of training.
In connection with the competition, some of the main streets in Chisinau will be blocked on Saturdays and Sundays. At the same time, the routes of the municipal public transport will be changed. Drivers who cross the neighbourhoods where the Chisinau International Marathon will take place, are asked to respect the directions of the traffic agents.
