Chisinau International Marathon gathered thousands of participants

The fifth edition of the "Chisinau International Marathon", held on Sunday in the capital, gathered thousands of participants. Beginner runners, professional athletes, wheelchair athletes and record-setters from Moldova and abroad came to the Great National Assembly Square. The winners received money gifts and prizes, IPN reports.

According to the organizer, which is the sports organization Sporter, the event started with a traditional warm-up exercises for the muscles, after which the participants lined up at the start line. The first to start the competition were the wheelchair athletes and their assistants (volunteers). The athletes were supposed to complete one of the three distances of their choice: 10 km, 21 km or 42 km. All the participants in the "Marathon for All" have done a great job with this task and have achieved incredible results. Later the start was announced for the rest of the participants in the distances: "Marathon by #BeActive" (42 km 195 m), "Half Marathon by Technosoft" (21 km 0975 m), "10 km Race by Naturalis" and "5 km Race by Herbalife, as well as the 1.5 km "Fun Run by Iute Credit".

The winners of the "Marathon for All" at the 10 km distance for men became: 1 - Catalin Nicolae Creanga, 2 - Bogdan Badea and 3 - Catalin Petrosanu; for women: 1 - Nadejda Banari, 2 - Mariana Andrusoi, 3 - Iuliana Tabacari.

The first finishers in the category "Marathon for All" at a distance of 21 km, among the men, were: 1 - Artur Radcovschii, 2 - Dmitrii Kuzuk, and among the women: 1 - Nadejda Dmitriuc. The first places in the category "Marathon for All" at a distance of 42 km, among the men were occupied by: 1 - Anatolii Bardizh and 2 - Ilie Stefirta, and women: 1 - Natalia Sobcinscaia.

The winners of "Chisinau International Marathon" at the distance "5 km by Herbalife", for men became: 1– Roman Ciobanu, 2 - Pavlenco Nicolae and 3 - Nicolae Popa; for women: 1 - Mihaela Botnari, 2 - Iuliana Tcaciova and 3 - Inna Solovieva.

The fastest in the "10 km Race by Naturalis" race for men were: 1 - Piotr Chiriac, 2 - Igor Timbalari and 3 - Gabriel Ivanciuc; for women: 1 - Cristina Bidiuc, 2 - Daniela Ciocan and 3 - Diana Nastas. The best results in the "Half Marathon by Technosoft" race (21 km 0975 m), for men were obtained by: 1 - Raileanu Maxim, 2 - Oleksandr Matviichuk and 3 - Mihai Bizniuc, and for women 1 - Kateryna Karmanenko, 2 - Caterat Ecaterina and 3 - Kateryna Katiushcheva.

In the semi-marathon, the winners of the first place set the track records, both in the female category and in the male category: Maxim Raileanu - 1: 06: 11.9 (Previous record - 1: 06: 12.0); Kateryna Karmanenko - 1: 20: 16.3 (Previous record - 1: 20: 43.0).

The fastest in the distance "Marathon by #BeActive" (42 km 195 m) were for men: 1 - Andrei Bogaci, 2 - Viacheslav Olishevskyi, 3 - Serhii Popov, 4 - Nicolai Gorbusco, 5 - Yury Vinogradov and 6 - Slavic Calancea; and for women: 1 - Zinaida Sacara, 2 - Iryna Masnyk, 3 - Oleksandra Kyryllova, 4 - Ganna Rangayeva, 5 - Eugenia Baltag and 6 - Andrea Grendova.
