Chisinau inhabitants do not have decent conditions in rest areas

Benches’ repairing and painting, beach equipment, illumination system, garbage bins, are the main provisions of the Action Plan on preparing rest zones of Chisinau municipality for spring-summer 2006, made public recently by local authorities. According to the plan, the preparing works of the rest zones started in the second decade of April and will end in the second decade of June. The majority of activities are concentrated in the parks „Rascani”, „Valea Morilor”, „Valea Trandafirilor”, „La izvor”,„Alunelul”, „Nistrean”, „Dendrariu” and in several squares. The head of the environment hygiene and human environment department of the Municipal Center of Preventive Medicine, Liuba Goncear, said that the plan is superficial, and its implementation does not ensure the qualitative fitting of rest areas, very often visited by the capital’s inhabitants and guests. She was very confused by the fact that in this plan are not included contless proposals of the Municipal Center of Preventive Medicine to improve the existent situation in these zones. Thus, neither this year it is foreseen the improvement of rest area of republican importance of Vatra town, which, at the moment, she highlighted, is a total disaster. The fact is more regrettable, as the water of the lake Ghidighici is cleaner than in any other lakes from Chisinau municipality and even than in Nistru river. In the same context, Liuba Goncear noted that it is absolutely necessary to change the sand of all the beaches, which is a danger of infections with helminthes and other diseases, and in certain parks it is needed to urgently change the water supply and sewerage systems. Referring to water quality of the lakes of Chisinau municipality, the official of Municipal Center of Preventive Medicine mentioned recently that there were taken samples in order to determine its quality. According to testing process, the bacteriological results will be ready in a week, and the general one – in 2 weeks.
