Chisinau hosts “ClassFest” Festival on November 22-30

The “ClassFest” International Festival of Theater and Film Schools this year is held with a seven-month delay owing to the epidemilogicla situation due to COVID-19. Initially, the event was arranged for April. Also owing to the pandemic, for the second consecutive year the festival is devoted to the film even if the concept provides that one year “ClassFest” is a film festival, while the next year it is a theater festival, rector of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts Victoria Melnic told a news conference on November 22. The tenth edition of “ClassFest” is held in Chisinau during November 22-30, IPN reports.

The festival’s director Svetlana Târțău said the current edition of “ClassFest” is held in a hybrid format, with physical presence and online. There will be screened 70 films, documentaries and animation movies made by young filmmakers from 11 states. Works will be presented by students of art and film schools of Austria, Italy, Romania, Armenia, Belarus, France, Germany, Georgia, Poland, Russia, and Moldova.

The films will be shown at the Creative Industries Development Center “ARTCOR” located at 137, 31 august 1989 St. Up to 50 persons with a COVID certificate will be allowed to attend. The link to secure free access to the event will be placed on the Facebook page of “ClassFest”.

The participants in the festival will be engaged in workshops that will be coordinated by filmmakers from Moldova and abroad.
