Chisinau high school graduates had poorer marks in Baccalaureate this year

The average grade on the Baccalaureate exams in the municipality of Chisinau this year was 7.5, in contrast to 7.54 last year. The quality index fell from 53% in 2008 to 51.52% this year, its is said in a report presented by the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport at the traditional August conference of teachers held on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Heads of municipal Baccalaureate centers blamed the computerized method of assessing the high school graduates. According to them, this method turned out to be imperfect and caused problems to teachers, Baccalaureate candidates and parents. In order to exclude such tense situations at the next sessions, the Baccalaureate center heads formulated proposals for improving the organization of the exams that will be submitted to the Ministry of Education and Youth. The average mark in the ninth form graduation exams per municipality was 6.94, while in the general secondary school graduation exams – 6.78.
