The head of the Chisinau Health Division Mihai Moldovanu was suspended from post for a period of 14 days. In the period, an internal inquiry will be carried out, while a commission will investigate the actions or inaction of the Division’s head. A decision to this effect was recently adopted by the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), IPN reports.
The proposal was submitted by the Socialist councilors. The leader of the Socialist group on the CMC Ion Ceban said that Mihai Moldovanu abused his position when he allowed using property that belonged to health facilities. He also illegally named and dismissed directors of municipal medical-sanitary intuitions.
Afterward, the Socialist councilors proposed launching an internal inquiry into the case of the Health Division head and constituting a commission that would investigate the alleged disciplinary deviations and abuse of power by Mihai Moldovanu within 14 days. In the period, Moldovanu will be suspended and the post will be held on an interim basis by the deputy head of the Health Division Constantin Rames.
A number of 26 councilors voted in favor of the given proposals.
In February, the Chisinau councilors fired another two functionaries – the head of the Chisinau Public Transport Division Igor Gamretski and the head of Chisinau’s Centru district Oleg Poiata. Afterward, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca made an order providing that the dismissal decisions are illegal. Thus, the given servants continue to hold office.
