Chisinau gets a space picture and CMC assigns exclusive right to draft PUG

Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) assigned the exclusive right to manage the activities of drafting the General Urban Plan (PUG). CMC took this decision at Tuesday’s meeting, 18 April. Certain state structures had these attributions until now, including the National Regional Development Agency. Municipality had the status of co-financier and not as beneficiary. The same decision established that the set of documents which represent the first drafting stage of PUG of Chisinau municipality will be examined by foreign experts. In this context, a special commission was created, composed by the interim mayor, one deputy mayor, commissions’ chairmen and the heads of CMC factions, which will propose within 30 days, a PUG concept and the tasks schedule for its drafting. In order to renew the map of Chisinau, deputy mayor Fiodor Negru also proposed that the Municipality orders taking pictures of the city out of space. General Urban Plan is drafted by the National Designing and Scientific Researches Institute "Urbanproiect". Financial support of the process is ensured by CMC and UNDP Moldova.
