Chisinau Gaz bookkeeper detained

The bookkeeper of the gas supplier Chisinau Gaz was arrested by officers of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office on June 1. She is suspected of involvement in embezzlement schemes, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the communiqué, immediately after uncovering the illegalities committed at the company, the bookkeeper tendered her resignation. The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office says that this is the second person arrested in this case, but the circle of suspects is much larger and includes former employees of the gas supplier. The prosecutors presume that the suspects personally transmitted the sums for the consumed gas to the bookkeeper.
The investigation goes on to establish all those involved, including the persons who illegally paid the gas bills.
