A family from the Chisinau Airport micro-district risks losing the apartment, because of the debt accumulated towards the water provider and the heating services. The provider saved this measure as the last resort, in case the family refuses to pay its debt that rises up to several tens of thousands of lei, reports Info-Prim Neo, quoting a communique from Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC). The debtor did not react for a long time, and refused to receive any warning or minute from the court enforcement officer, and did not pay the debt on water consumption. Moreover, starting with 2008 and until now there were 4 court rulings that force the family to pay over 30,000 lei, with a ban on leaving the country. The debtor has been announced of all these actions by the court enforcement officer. Nevertheless, the family avoided paying the accumulated debt. As a result, a court order was emitted, and the apartment has been evaluated and set for auction. If until the auction the consumer does pay the debt, the apartment will be sold. In this context, the provider warns all water consumers from Chisinau, who have debts on water consumption, that they risk losing their assets. The capital’s water provider says that these methods give out good results. After their assets have been sequestered, most of the consumers pay their debt for water and sewage. There are cases, however, when debtors refuse to honor their obligations, despite being warned on several occasions about the risks of doing so. In order to avoid the disconnection of collective and private residential units from the services provided, or the sequestration of goods and interdiction to leave the country, the water provider asks consumers to cover their debts. Tens of consumers from the individual sector are disconnected from the municipal water system weekly.
