Chisinau education institutions will be ready for new school year by September 1

All the education establishments in the municipality of Chisinau are now 83.7% ready for the new school year. The rest of the works will be completed until September 1, the adviser to the head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, Tatiana Botnaru said at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. The electric power networks of all the schools and kindergartens have been checked. At several institutions, works are carried out on the roofs and the heat supply systems. Tatiana Botnaru assured that these works will be finished by the start of the new school year, so that the students could return to their classrooms. The works performed this summer will be inspected by five specialized commissions this week. During the meeting, police commissioner of Chisinau, Iacob Gumenita warned the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport and the General Division of Public Transport and Communication Ways that the waste from reconstruction works at 13 education institutions has not been collected by last weekend, while the crosswalks near 37 institutions have not been marked against. Gumenita also said that road signs “Careful, Children” have not been placed near 8 institutions. Tatiana Botnaru has told Info-Prim Neo that the information provided by Iacob Gumenita is old because all the waste has been collected during the weekend. “Otherwise, the assessment commissions do not allow the given institutions to work,” the quoted source said. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the General Division of Public Transport and Communication Ways, Veaceslav Terna said that the crosswalks mentioned by Iacob Gumenita have been marked in spring and these are renewed within budget limits.
